"The Jane Doe Project"
You Beautiful Black Woman wants to keep everyone aware of domestic violence. This is why we have worked so closely with a group of women out of Grand Rapids, attending Aquinas College, to bring you "THE JANE DOE PROJECT". "The Jane Doe Project" is a mixed-genre performance written, directed, and produced by Aquinas student Cheyna Roczkowski. Based on interviews conducted with Aquinas women (traditional students, faculty, alumni, and continuing education students) concerning their experiences with rape, sexual assault, molestation, and domestic violence, The Jane Doe Project seeks bring awareness to the overarching effects of violence against women as well as end the silence surrounding this issue. “This project is designed to present a safe space where both men and women can increase their awareness of this devastating issue as well as allow victims a possible chance at healing by hearing their stories heard anonymously out loud.” update. Cheyna Roczkowski This will be held in the Rankin Center Dome Room on Friday December 11, 2009. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the play begins @ 7pm SHARP! This is a FREE EVENT! Donations will be accepted at the front door and ALL donations will go to W.I.S.E.! We hope to see everyone there!!
